A specialized training course in the field of first aid, the course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to provide emergency medical care to the injured before they are transferred to the hospital. The course covers topics such as casualty assessment, respiratory management, trauma management, bleeding and injuries to the head, spine, chest, abdomen and extremities. The course follows a standardized and documented methodology based on the latest research and evidence in the field of trauma support.
The International Trauma Support Course (ITLS) aims to teach participants the practical skills and knowledge needed to provide advanced primary care and deal with injuries in an effective and safe manner. The course also seeks to achieve several key objectives, including:
- Practical skills development: The course includes hands-on training in a range of basic skills that help provide primary care for the acutely injured, such as spinal stabilization, CPR procedures and hemorrhage management.
- Strengthening confidence: The course seeks to enhance participants' confidence in their abilities to deal with critical situations and cooperate as an integrated team. Participants are trained in effective communication and coordination in emergency situations.
