1. Willingness to keep abreast of knowledge of machinery and emergency equipment
2. For the participant to understand and perform routine maintenance of their own emergency vehicles and their role and responsibility in this process
3. Explain the value and importance of periodic vehicle inspection
4. Recognize the major component systems of an emergency vehicle
5. Describe how to conduct pre- and post-trip inspections
6. Describe the three types of preventive maintenance
